Read the notice, not just the product name
Check what the notice covers
A product notice may apply to a particular product version, batch, unit, market or period. A similar name alone is not enough to establish that the item in front of you is affected.
Read the issuer, the affected identifiers and the publication date. Compare the details with the packaging and follow the original instructions.
A notice takes priority
A product record can exist while the product is subject to a recall or other concern. In PIVERS, a record match never hides an applicable warning: the most serious condition is always shown first.
Follow the instructions from the identified responsible authority or issuer. You can subscribe to alerts to hear about new notices.
When information is incomplete
If a notice cannot be checked against a current source, PIVERS shows “Unable to check” rather than a result. A saved result on your device is historical information, not a fresh check.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact emergency services rather than waiting for a platform response.
Have a product in front of you? Check it now or report a concern.
